As much as we would like to offer a service for every problem, there are some situations where MyClinic is not the best option.

Medical Emergencies are not suitable for the MyClinic service and your local emergency service should be contacted.

What is a medical emergency?

Heart attack - a pain in the chest like a very tight band, heavyweight or squeezing or any pain that moves into your jaw or neck

Stroke - face drooping, difficulty in speaking, or weakness or numbness on one side of your body

Difficulty with breathing - (Adult) gasping, wheezing heavily, not being able to get words out, choking or lips turning blue (Child) fast breathing with muscle movement under the rib cage, between the ribs, and/or tugging of the neck, lips turned blue, choking, unable to speak (older children), or grunting (babies)

Serious injuries - heavy bleeding that won't stop or deep cuts after a serious accident

Drowsiness - unconscious or unable to wake them up

Severe infections - feverish illness, with a rash that does not fade when you press it or cold, mottled/pale skin

First-ever seizure/fit - if they are not known to have fits, seizures or epilepsy treat this as an emergency

Poisoning - they have swallowed something they should not have (medicines, batteries, household chemicals)
